Accessibility and Tactile Maps

Versoteq tactile maps for the blind, with added augmented reality for other users, foster better urban orientation in new surroundings.

TactMap helps organizations and businesses build accessible services and an inclusive society. Our 3D printed tactile maps capture location information into the sense of touch and hearing, helping the visually impaired, hearing impaired, as well as everyone else better navigate in a new environment. The maps include lifelike tactile objects, iBeacon and voice guidance for an improved usability. For other user groups than the blind, we provide Augmented Reality solutions that add digital visual and audio information on top of the physical maps..

TactMap is a truly design-for-all solution that aims to address the needs in wayfinding of users with different abilities. 3D printing, as the manufacturing method, allows us to design finest details which are both comfortable to touch and attractive to look at.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED

Three dimensional lifelike shapes with clear elevations make it easy for the visually impaired to perceive by touching. Finely designed tactile details provide an enhanced sense of touch.

HEARING LOSS & LOW VISION

Navigation guidance is written in large text or presented in sign language serving users with hearing impairments or low vision.

FULL COLOR MAPS FOR ALL

High contrast colours help people with low vision while lifelike colours enable everyone else to faster read map.

FIND THE MAP - BEACONS

The visually impaired can't find the maps without help. Without an escort, our tactile maps can be found via iBeacons and sound beacons.

AUDIO GUIDANCE

A TactMap has up to 20 buttons which give spoken navigation info to blind and visually impaired users.

AUGMENTED REALITY

Extra accessibility info can be added to AR which works on everyday devices, helping people with reduced mobility to find important info without moving around too much.
